Our Story
It Started With Taking Care of the Customer
Before starting ARC Builds KC, Luther Chandler was selling roofing for another contractor. One day, the company decided it would no longer handle some of the gutters, interior repairs, and related work its customers needed.
The problem was that Luther had already told those homeowners their projects would be taken care of.
I can't leave these people stranded.
So he didn't.
Luther found the people needed to complete the work, coordinated the remaining repairs, and made sure those customers were taken care of. That experience helped push him to build a company of his own, where taking responsibility for the customer would be part of how the business operates.

Long before ARC Builds KC, Luther developed a straightforward way of working with people: be honest about the options, give people the information they need to make a decision, and do what you believe is right even when another choice might be easier or more profitable.

Some longtime customers have worked with ARC Builds KC on several projects and gotten to know the people doing the work in their homes. Luther has even had customers leave town while work continued because they were comfortable knowing the project was in good hands.

Meet the Owner
Meet Luther Chandler
Luther's first experience in construction came at 18, working alongside a roofer in Seattle. It was hard physical work, but he liked learning how things were built and repaired, and he learned quickly that hard work did not scare him.
His career did not follow a straight path from there. Luther spent years in mechanical, technical, sales, and customer-facing roles before eventually returning to construction. Along the way, he developed the problem-solving, communication, and customer-service skills that would later influence the way he runs ARC Builds KC.
One principle followed him through all of it: have the integrity to do things the right way rather than take shortcuts.
Today, those standards are bigger than one person. They are the standards Luther wants ARC Builds KC to carry forward as the company grows.

ARC Builds KC, formerly Accent Roofing Group, provides residential roofing, remodeling, and exterior services for homeowners throughout Johnson County, the Kansas City metro, and surrounding communities in Kansas and Missouri.
Projects include roofing, kitchen and bathroom remodeling, decks, patios, siding, and exterior painting.
Construction requirements can vary by city and jurisdiction. ARC Builds KC works through the permitting, inspection, and code requirements that apply to the projects it performs. Luther obtained his Class A contractor license early in the development of the business so the company could take on work beyond roofing alone.
